Fall Update

As sucky as  my last post was... life went on, got better, got worse, and mostly, got SUPER BUSY.
I'm taking 9 classes this semester. NINE. Five of them are dance classes. Lets just say I have beastly thighs.
I am also taking Organic Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, PDBio 120, and Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith. It has been a wonderful semester. I went on a trip to Idaho this past weekend, my good friend got back from his mission, I was in the BYU homecoming parade and lots of other crazy things. Life has mostly been good. I've replanned my life again. And now, I'm hoping to go to London. So summary? Life is going.. and I'm gonna see where it takes me and try to have a good attitude about everything, the good and bad alike.

How does it feel when your dreams are shattered into a million pieces?

It feels like CRAP!!!  I've pretty much been looking forward to going to Jerusalem for I don't know, at least three years. I finally have the money, I fill out the application and I get everything turned in, and I got the rejection letter today. I didn't even make the waiting list. I have been convinced that I was gonna go to Jerusalem, and now to be so close and not make it.. ugh... It's just hard. I know everything will be fine, everything happens for a reason, but that's hard to remember when all you want to do is throw something at the wall and cry into your pillow. DANG IT. Instead I'll just rant/cry about it on the internet... Much better use of my feelings I'd say... :P Or wallow into some ice cream... The excitement I had when I saw the letter in the mailbox, I was convinced I was getting in, I was just looking for the "Congratulations..." But no.. I got the "Unfortunately". That is a mean little word, unfortunately. Staring at you, haunting you, ruining your wonderful mood.. Throwing you into an awful spiral of sadness and depression and angst. But who knows, this may be for the better. It means I don't have to take O-Chem during the summer... That's good, right? lol... Well, I'm not giving up without a fight.. I'll just reapply in October, and everything will work out... I'm hoping anyways.

First Week of Work

Well I finished my first week of work at Kaiser Permanente. I worked 30.5 hours which isn't too shabby for my first week I'd say. Subtracting tithing and what I'm guessing for taxes, which was just 10%, it could be more, I'm not really sure, I made 463 dollars. YAY!!! I work for the Clinical Pharmacy department, and I've done a heck of a lot of training. Personally, I think the coolest part is I have a badge that unlocks doors when you wave it front of the red light, but that's just me ;) I work in a cubicle, and besides training, I've filled out a spreadsheet, by looking at medical records and recording the answers given. It's been an interesting week. I'm living down in Aurora with my Aunt Shanny, and we are having a lot of fun haha ;) We like to party... at home. :) But it's all good, and I can't wait to keep working hard and learning lots, and making money.
Interesting facts about kaiser Permanente:

• They were the first real health insurance plan in the nation, when Dr. Sidney Garfield worked with Henry Kaiser to have workers pay first 5 cents out of their wages to cover all work related accidents, and then 5 more cents for any illness, non-work related. 
• Is a non-profit health care company, so everything they make goes back into communities and towards providing great service and care. 
• They have all electronic medical records, so they can catch anomalies or patterns more quickly than other doctors or health care facilities. 
• They are only located in California, Colorado, Georgia, Oregon, Washington, Hawaii, Ohio, Maryland, Virginia and Washington D.C. 
• They like to give out free stuff to their new employees, like books, coffee mugs, lunch boxes, and band-aids. 

Overall, it looks like Kaiser Permanente is gonna be a great place to work, and I'm gonna learn a lot. If i do decide to pursue pharmacy (which is still the plan) I definitely would not mind working for Kaiser when I finish school.

Update on my life

I posted only once in May, and now we're halfway through June, and this is my first post... I have a thing about not posting unless I have pictures, and I don't post pictures unless I edit them first.. So between not taking pictures and not editing the ones I DID take.. Let's just say I haven't posted. But since May, I have actually gotten a job! Unless of course I don't pass my background check... I sincerely hope I do haha But assuming that I do, I start New Employee Orientation at Kaiser Permanente on June 27th. I'm pretty excited. This is like a dream summer job, and I get to find out whether I really do like pharmacy or not :) I'm REALLY hoping that I do like it haha
Besides that, I have been hanging out a lot with friends I've made in the Singles ward, seeing as my best friend Nathan left on his mission to the UKRAINE a month ago. we've done lots of fun things, like go rafting, and today I'm going camping up in Frisco, so hopefully  I'll take a ton of pictures when I go. I got a calling, I am a ward missionary. Exciting, I know.
My Aunt Ashley moved out here this week from Georgia, and it's gonna be so much fun hanging out with her and her babies :)
Most exciting to me tho, is that I'm applying to go on a study abroad to Jerusalem in exactly one month. I am beyond excited. In my mind, I'm already in, but I haven't actually applied, so I don't really know anything, but I'm hoping for the best and *hopefully* I'll be in Jerusalem next January.

Dang..

So i definitely haven't updated for 2 weeks.. my bad. It's just that those two weeks consisted of the most crazy intense period of my life. I had studying for finals, finals, and then packing, WEDDING, WEDDING, packing, unpacking, loading, CLEANING, oh yah, and maybe some sleep in there somewhere... Finals sucked hardcore. I've never been so emotionally distraught in my life.. It was awful. But I managed to get decent grades in all my classes and keep my scholarship, and that's really all I care about, so it was all good.
It was so great to see two of my really good friends/roommates get married last weekend though. I LOVE weddings. My friend Kamie got married at the Oquirrh Mountain Temple, which is GORGEOUS. And then my friend Megan got married the next day in the Salt Lake Temple. Temple marriages make me happy :) At Megan's reception we were the one who decorated their car, and let's just say we had a LOT of fun ;)
Oh yah, one other little detail, I dyed my hair red. It was super red for about 2 days and then it faded into a light chestnutty/brown color. Not terrible for my first ever dye job lol.

I'm so connected it's Ridiculous

So recently I've realized that I'm so connected to the internet it is ridiculous. I've recently gotten accounts on a few more sites, and it's RIDICULOUS.

• I have a blog, this one. Although i've been thinking of making another one, why? idk. because i can probably. That's the beauty of the internet. 
• I have a facebook. Old news, I've had it forever, but i'm addicted. 
• I have a pinterest. This is probably my favorite, because it just IS!!!!! It is so wonderful, you find things that you love on the internet, and you can save them in one place so you can find them again. No more searching through your history to find that one perfect picture/recipe, because you already saved it. SO MUCH FUN. 
• I have a stumbleupon. This is quite fun and a wonderful way to find tons of cool stuff on the internet. 
• I get several emails from various sites that i subscribe to almost everyday. My nerdy political side is going to come out, but I get Morning Jolt, The Goldberg File, IBD newsletter, and Make-It and Love-it. So great. 
• I have a  flickr. Mostly just to look at other people's pictures, but I've uploaded some of my own. 
• I have a youtube account, a vimeo, and a an animoto account. All of which are video uploaders. CRAZY. 
• Today I got a twitter. A TWIITER. I've been refusing to get a twitter forever, but I got one today. I'm still not sure how it works exactly, but I've tweeted? six times. It's a skill I happen to posses. 

Looking at this, I upload my life into so many different places. All over the internet, especially my blog and facebook, my personal written journal, my journal for jotting down spiritual things, letters that I write to people, and then just telling people about my life. and with all of that, no one really knows the real me, I don't tell any one of those things everything about me. All of them are just snippets of me. I carefully choose who and what I want to know specific things about me depending on who or what they are... I think lots of people would be surprised to know a lot of things about me, but they probably won't find out, because there's a reason they don't know.. lol. Anyways, if you want to know something just ask. I'll probably tell you ;) unless I don't want you to know.. haha

Fall Semester 2011

So I registered for classes tonight. It was the first time i actually had trouble getting up to 14 credits.. I didn't realize I didn't have enough until I looked at my total credits and realized i was about 3 short.. which is super frustrating when you're trying not to take too many classes so as not to die taking 3 chem classes in one semester. But I think I've got it all worked out, and let's just say, my body is gonna be FINE next semester haha

 costume for folk dance.. altho my foot looks way more retarded than i thought it was going to. yay for ISRAEL!

It's definitely gonna be an interesting semester. A lot of classes, but actually not a lot of credits.. I'm pretty excited about half my classes anyways.. ;) We'll see how Chem goes.. :P
