Me and my obsession

So lately I've gotten addicted to wedding and photography blogs. Which is fun, but I'm nowhere near a position where I would be planning for a wedding. But hey, if I figure out what I like now, then when i get engaged, it'll be super easy! Right? Right? -crickets chirping- ok.. So it won't be easy. Especially since I like... everything!!! hahaha. jk. I know more about what i don't like than what I do, but I'll cross that bridge when i get to it.. (: It's great fun, and I'm learning a lot. Plus, it's cool to see what all these different people are doing for their weddings. And then it makes me wish that I was engaged.. just so I could get to do all of this too.

Part of what brought this on is I have 5 friends who have or are getting married this summer. One friend got married in May, and then I have two in July and two in August. The best part about this? 2 of them are younger than me, and 4 of the girls are either my age or close to it. It's kinda crazy that all these girls from my stake are getting married - ok it's just 2, but still- because I feel like we're all too young to get married..

Anyways, if you want to check out some super cute/pretty/romantic unrealistically expensive(at least in my opinion) weddings check them out in my blog list.. I like Style Me Pretty because it tells the story. Whitebox isn't just weddings and i LOVE their photography. The others are just fun to check out, and cute to look at...
So now you know what I've been wasting my free time on... lol :)

Be prepared..

For some SERIOUS yummyness and and then LEGIT grossness. I'll try to space the pictures out so you can enjoy the first part before running to the bathroom.. ok it shouldn't be that bad. But now that I've prepared you for all that... Here's the nummy lasagna that Emily and I made!!! I used Grandma Silk's recipe, the one with the green onions and we ate lasagna breakfast, lunch, and dinner until it was all done. At the end of the semester, both of them wanted copies of the recipe. Idk if it was the 1/2 pound of cheese i swear we put in it or what but it was AMAZING!!!!! Thank you Grandma!! :)

MMM... Doesn't that just make you want to go make some LASAGNA?? Garfield knows what's best lol...

So now for the second part of the post. I know you want to go make some Lasagna, but idk about that after these next few pictures... Be warned!!! Hahaha. So one night, my roommates and I were playing some games in our living room with some good friends. We were having a little party when all of a sudden we heard a knock at the door, assuming it was someone we knew, we yelled for them to come in. No one came in.. so I jumped up to answer the door. Instead of a friendly face, I was confronted with this image....

Yes.. that IS a dead fish covered in nasty hot sauce on our doorstep. We eventually figured out that it was a kid in my ward... But this was super nasty stuff. But since we're in college, we laughed and thought it was pretty hilarious if a bit freaky.. I mean check out this close-up:

Idk if the best part about this prank was the hot stuff they splattered everywhere.. or the KNIFE sticking out of the middle of the fish.. hahaha.

So that isn't where the story ends.. I know you thought it was over. Later that night, probably 5 minutes after all of our friends left, we heard a thump on our window. Now we live on the 2nd floor, so thumps on our window aren't exactly normal. We opened our blinds to see what hit our window, when a HEAD popped up, hit the window and fell back down. It was a mannikin's head, but it still freaked us out. My biggest regret is not chasing them down and figuring out who did it. Since our apartment spotlight for ward prayer was the next day, we decided to immortalize our experience in song.. So here' s the song we wrote, it's to the tune of Under the Bridge by Red Hot Chili Peppers.

This is Apartment 285

We like to sing and swing and jive

Emily, Aubrey, Allie

You will love us just wait and see

Aubrey Jones is really cool

She likes to dance and she’s good at school

She plays violin and likes to run

Hang out with her and you’ll have some fun

Emily Horn is talented

Her baked goods would get the highest bid

She plays piano and she sings soprano

She’s so sweet and really a treat

Allie Bowen loves her ice cream

She loves to smile and you can see her beam

She plays lots of sports and she gave herself frostbite

Hang out with her and you’ll be laughing all night

CHORUS:

This is 285 in building 21

You should chill with us we’ll have lots of fun

We’ll party like its 1982

We love BYU and we love you too

CREEPER

Creepers creepers throughout Wyview

Throw heads at our window, and put fish on our doorstep

We’re kinda scared, so we sleep with our shoes on

We’ll be ready if it continues on

We like to wash knives so you better watch out

You should never ever creep us out

We’ll whip them out and chase you down

This is what happens when you make us frown.

We’ll hunt you down and we’re very vengeful

We’ll stuff your stairwell with a dead orca

You’ll have to eat yourselves out to breathe

This is what happens when you make us seethe

we didn’t actually sing this verse, but we had fun writing it!!!!

We’re very sweet girls who love the church

For our prince charming we’re on a search

We read our scriptures every day

But we still find time to play

Now we’ve finished cuz we have to leave

To the gospel we hope you cleave

Please come visit and we’ll have some fun

Finally you know us now the semester’s done.

CHORUS:

This is 285 in building 21

You should chill with us we’ll have lots of fun

We’ll party like its 1982

We love BYU and we love you too

Festival of Colors

So every year in American Fork, the Hindu Temple throws a huge celebration for Holi. It's called the Festival of Colors, because basically everyone just throws tons of colored dye at each other and sing the same words to different melodies lol It was a ton of fun, even though only one of my friends went with me. It didn't matter cuz we made it FUN!!! We got kinda lost on the way, and were late, but it still worked out.
Kamie trying to take a picture of herself.. lol

mmm...

some weird guy who took this picture below, and then before we could do anything, took a picture of himself. Too funny!

someone just got the purple chickenpox...lol

Who doesn't love food??

This is the first of a couple food posts. I realized a bunch of food pictures, and I figured i needed to do something with them :) One Sunday morning my bestie Lydia came over and we made Skittle pancakes, and BOY were the good. Check out all the nummy RAINBOW goodness. Did you know that there's the same number of letters in rainbow as there are colors in the rainbow? Me either until I changed the font on the word rainbow :) My roommates and I also enjoy roasting marshmallows over an open stove. They are quite delicious. We tried making smores with melted chocolate chips. It kinda worked lol. The last picture is my SUPER DELICIOUS BREAKFAST!!! I make breakfast for myself occasionally, but this one was especially beautiful and healthy. And it had BACON!!!

IT's A FLOWER!!!
Who doesn't love conjoined pancakes? Much like conjoined twins.
We're hot and we get lots of guys to date us. Especially when we look like this.

Does it look like the Marshmallow is saying "OH YESS"? We like to think so.
Super Numalicious breakfast!! Like the way I artistically arranged everything? Yup. I'm special like that.

I Love to See the Temple

So this semester it has been my goal to go to the temple every week. So far, I have totally accomplished that goal, and one week i even went twice. I went with my friends up to Harriman on Saturday night where we partied, burned a teddy bear (don't ask), and watched movies late into the night. Oh, and then stayed up till almost 5 in the morning talking. I love being in college. Anyways, the next day we went to the Oquirrh Mountain Temple. It is most beautiful and I love it. I kinda wish I lived near it so I could get married there. It was rainy and cold, but we still had a wonderful time. I've also gotten several gorgeous pictures of the Provo Temple as I've waited for people, or just couldn't not take a picture of it because it was so pretty. So enjoy this feast of temple pictures.

So at BYU we like to..

DANCE DANCE DANCE!!!!!!!!!!! I think I went to like 3 or 4 dances in a two week time span. It has been ridiculous, and TOTALLY fun. I went to a stake dance, two put on by BYU, a fancy formal dance, and a girls choice Dr Seuss dance. Unfortunately, I do not have a ton of pictures from these, especially the Dr. Seuss dance, but my date and I went as the kids from the Cat in the Hat, so it wasn't TERRIBLY exciting. I have decided that i like to wear high waisted skirts with my shirt tucked in though. Anyways, here's a bunch of pictures from the formal dance, and then pictures in the car after the stake dance. Also, some of the pictures are bigger cuz i copied them from facebook. apparently that makes a difference lol

Twoody and I washing dishes
The Girls. Katie, Steph, Kara, and Me
Us being super excited about our GIANT ice cream that we got.

Yah. we're normal. Or at least we like to pretend we are.

Me and Kamie. We loves each other.

ROOMIE LOVE!!!!!
Allie is kindly hiding my neck fat and multiple chins from the camera. She's not strangling me you silly people. ;)
apparently i missed the let's look weird memo. lol
Here's how I asked my date to the Dr. Seuss dance. Sorry there's no pictures of us together at all..... We're really good about that lol
Also, for the words taht are cut off, it says "Oh the place's you'll go, Oh the things you'll do. How 'bout Saturday night a Date with you?" I'm super creative like that :)

Spring Sing

So every year the BYU 12th stake does what's called Spring Sing. Every ward picks a disney movie and then creates a 5-7 minute skit/song medley to perform for everyone else in the stake. Our ward started probably at least a month before everyone else, and we picked The Lion King. It was unique, and we didn't do a BYU spin-off like almost every other ward. We were pretty epic if I do say so myself. Myself and the first soloist, were the choreographers. We had a blast, and no bragging, but we were pretty much the best there. People can tell if you have practiced a lot, or if you haven't practiced really at all. We had rehearsals starting in January, and so had a ton of time to plan our skit. We also had the best scenery. Hello, pride rock!! Woot. Anyways, I had so much fun, and here's the link to a video of the skit. Check it out!
